Israeli soldier Aviv Hakyniy, who commanded a special forces unit that searched for smuggling tunnels along Gaza's border with Egypt, is pictured here in one of the tunnels found in Khan Younis refugee camp during an operation in Gaza. Hakyniy was later killed, along with 12 other soldiers, in an attack on the unit on the so-called Philadelphi Road, along the Egypt-Gaza border, on 12 May, 2004, a few months after this photo was taken.
