Two weeks after the protest over housing distress arisen in Israel, demonstrations sweeping the country. More than 150,000 people took part in protests nationwide calling for socioeconomic changes, demanding "social justice". Hundreds of people placed tents in central locations of major cities as their protest encampments ("tent cities"). What only started as a protest over expensive housing, rapidly accelerated to be the Israeli summer of discontent.
