Palestinians hurl stones toward Israeli security forces outside the Old City walls at the Lion's Gate October 6, 2000 in Jerusalem as smoke billows from an Israeli police station which was set on fire. At the conclusion of Friday prayers at al-Aqsa on the Temple Mount, or el-Harm el-Sharif, Palestinians poured out near the Lion's Gate and confronted Israeli security forces in running battles for several hours in what the Palestinians are calling a "Day of Rage".
